Our regular Club Nights take place on Monday and Wednesday evenings. The most popular night is Wednesday, where we often have up to three groups.
The runs on a Monday evening tend to be shorter, the distance can vary from 5-6 miles. Usually, this will be a 'recovery' style run at an easy pace. Occasionally we may run some session work, short sprint intervals or mobility work have been recent examples.
On Wednesday evenings, we meet up at Bexleyheath Sports Club at 6:30pm, and set off around 6:40pm. If we have sufficient numbers, we have a slower group head off first.
During the summer months, we like to take in as much off-road running as we can. We make good use of local woods and open spaces. Winter time, we tend to do more road running, with a considerable amount of hill work (inevitable around Plumstead!).
The distance varies from 7 - 9 miles approximately. On a Wednesday, the runs are generally just over an hour.
The size of the group can vary from a dozen up to twenty members. Ages likewise, vary from youngsters in their twenties to the more senior runners.
Beginners Training Group
We also have a beginners training group on a Wednesday evening. Experienced instructors will help to cater the pace and the distance to your own capabilities so no-one ever gets left behind!
So if you're interested in improving your fitness and well-being, meeting some new people and having a few laughs just come along and have some fun. There is no commitment to join the club. We're not called the 'friendly running club' for nothing!
In addition to our regular club runs on Monday and Wednesday, we also meet up on Sunday mornings. The runs can start from a number of locations. Plumstead Common (opposite the CO-OP), the Boathouse, Danson Park or Hall Place, Bexley. The runs normally set off at 9.00am. * Sunday runs tend to be longer runs (up to two hours, sometimes even longer).
